on creativity

Creativity is so essential in all aspects of business. I don’t care what type of business you’re in, creativity is key (along with tons of other stuff) to success. As a society we’re taught that being creative is something you do in art hour in elementary school and if you’re really crazy, college. Because of this, most people have a hard time connecting with their creative side.
I wrote a good post here on ways to implement creativity into your company.
I’m going to be lame today and point you to Scott’s blog. He is the worlds foremost expert in approachability but is turning into quit the creative genius as well. His post here is a must read.
Another good read on creativity is The Artists Way. If I were you, I’d read it asap.
Have any other good creative resources or thoughts, I’d love to hear them.

One of the best creativity triggers on the planet is…
…not having a lot of money.
This forces you to think, rather than spend, your way out of problems. So, next time your checking account looks lean and your wallet looks empty, put on your thinking cap.
Works for me!

Creativity IS key not just for artist’s you’re right. Great post. Getting inspired can be as simple as taking a different way to work, trying a new restaraunt or making a new dish, listening to new music, even the way you organize you’re space at home and at work. Most people can carry their normal workload or whatever but the people with ideas are the ones that get ahead.

Interesting post. Here’s another resource I found about businesses trying to introduce creativity in schools. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/071202/business/creativity_matters
As edtajchman pointed out, I think Im going to try something new and creative everyday. I find that the most creative and interesting people are those who are not afraid to try something new in life.
