Hi Ed,

Thank you for the post!

"Can we track page loads and charge a cpl?" This is exactly what GumGum does! It's hard to believe, I know.

We have two models, pay-per-use and ad-supported.

With pay-per-use the content owner sets a CPM and every thousand impressions his/her content receives (we track this) the publisher pays the CPM. In this case the content is free of any advertising.

The second licensing model, ad-supported, the publisher does not pay anything out of pocket but in exchange displays an advertisement alongside the content. The advertisement is monetized also on a CPM basis (we track the views again) and the content owner receives the advertising dollars directly into his/her pockets.

I am going to start working on a FAQ for GumGum, but in the meantime keep the questions and comments coming. Great blog!
