I would add an item #0: “Believe in yourself”. If you don’t believe in yourself and in your ability to create the outcomes you want in life, none of the rest is going to be attainable. We can only create what we can conceive, and if we can’t conceive of our own success, we’ll never be able to reach it.
I know a few people who have this problem, and it’s really difficult to watch their struggles to achieve something they think they’re not capable of and don’t deserve. In order to be successful, that mindset is the first thing that has to go.
That’s not to suggest, of course, that believing yourself to be the next Ansel Adams will make it so without any work or effort. Quite the contrary, in fact. But the maximum outcome we are able to achieve will be bounded by our own perceptions of what is possible. Raise the mental bar, and you make room for the physical bar to follow.
